In September 2004, American Showa broke ground for the new Research and Development Division at 677 W.Cherry Street, Sunbury, Ohio. Originally both the Sunbury and Blanchester manufacturing plants had designated Research and Development Engineers on-site. With the new building we were able to consolidate our research and development efforts.
The primary function of American Showa's Research and Development division is to support our customers in the design and development of shock absorbers, power steering and prop shafts for future models. American Showa R&D's customers include Honda Research of America, Harley Davidson, Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing, Subaru, Mazda, Chrysler and the U.S. plant divisions as well as SHOWA Japan.
